Week 51 - December 22 - 14 Players
Hugh Morris Defeated Steve Cherne for the win tonight, and can’t be caught for player of the month. Player of the year is a different story!!! I was a bit of a spoiler for both Steve Brown and Jesse... Jesse defeated Kurt in the first round. I defeated Steve in the first round and Kurt defeated him in the consolation so Steve scored no points. I defeated Jesse in the second round, and the .08 points he scored put Jesse back in the lead by .06. Oh by the way, Bob defeated Duane in the consolations...
Week 50 - December 15 - 17 Players
Hugh Morris is still leader for player of the month - HOWEVER, Steve Brown & Jesse Eaton are virtually tied for player of the year!!! Steve has just .02 lead over Jesse, the next two weeks will be interesting! Jesse defeated Ralph in the finals and David Dinville acted as a spoiler of sorts by defeating Steve Brown in the consolation finals...
Week 49 - December 8 - 17 Players
Hugh Morris defeated Steve Binenstock in the finals and takes the lead for player of the month. Congratulations to Kurt Peterson who defeated Hans Wang in the consolations tonight. Jesse is the only player that has a chance to catch Steve Brown who holds a slim 1.78 lead for Player of the Year Honors...
Week 48 - December 1 - 16 Players
Steve Brown and Jim Pokela share November Player of the Month Honors... Yury defeated Hugh in the finals and Steve Cherne defeated Ralph to win the Consolation for the second week in a row!
Week 47 - November 23 - 15 Players
Thanksgiving Eve - the one week a year we play on Wednesday... Steve Brown was defeated in the finals by Hugh. Jesse went home to Chicago and scored no points this week; so Steve now has the lead by 2.2 points and he can expand that lead next week because Jesse, Eric, and I are headed for LA to play in the California Tournament. Two weeks ago I defeated Steve Cherne in the finals, tonight he got his revenge by rolling double sixes to defeat me in the consolations!!!
Week 46 - November 17 - 18 Players
Playing for his third week in a row, Jim Pokela defeated Steve Brown in the finals. Steve is still leads for the year, and Jim moved ahead of me for player of the month... In the consolation finals Robert Stone, who is visiting from Montana defeated Judge Bob.
Week 45 - November 10 - 20 Players
Steve Klesker from Chicago was one of our 20 players this week...
- Headline - Golden Valley, MN - Tournament Director, David Minikus, knocked Jesse Eaton out of Player of the Year first place position!!! I defeated Jesse in the quarter finals - had he won, he would have maintained his lead over Steve Brown, who defeated David Dinville in the consolation finals. In the finals I defeated Steve Cherne :- )
Week 44 - November 3 - 25 Players
WOW, 25 players this week!!! I’m always prepared for up to 24 players... I had a draw sheet for 36, but it was not a format that guaranteed two matches for every player - I’ll create one today!!!
OK, Congratulations to Kurt Peterson for his first tournament Victory - he had a bye in the first round, then defeated Ralph, Tom Magne, Shu and then Jim Pokela in the finals... Congratulations are also in order for Jon Dowd, he was defeated by Jim Pokela in the first round then he bested Ed, Jesse, and Steve Reichelt to win the Consolations...
Week 43 - October 27 - 22 Players
Another great turnout, 22 players!!! Jesse can hear the foot steps behind him... Steve Brown defeated Duane in the finals this week and scored a total of 4.5 points to capture player of the month for October. Jessie’s total for the month is 1.82 and now his lead over Steve for player of the year is only .03 points! In the consolation finals, Dave Wetzell had his way with me, I never had a chance!
Week 42 - October 20 - 21 Players
Great turnout, 21 players, a few of the non-regulars are getting tuned up for Vegas next month... Jeff defeated Bob in the finals, and Steve Brown drew a little closer to our #1 player by defeating Jesse in the consolation tonight!
Week 41 - October 13 - 14 Players
Lots of players went to Peoria this week... Bob defeated Steve Binenstock in the finals and David Dinville defeated Kurt in the consolations.
Week 40 - October 6 - 20 Players
Steve Cherne eeked out a win in the finals tonight over Steve Brown. Jesse maintained his lead for player of the year over Brown, by defeating Ed Z in the consolations.
Week 39 - September 29 - 20 Players
Jesse increased his lead over Steve Brown with a win over Jeff Nitschke in the finals tonight. In the consolations, Kurt Peterson scored his first victory. In his first round Kurt defeated Ed then was defeated by Yury & in the consolation bracket Kurt scored victories over Gregg, Ralph, David Minikus and then David Dinville in the finals - Congratulations Kurt...
Week 38 - September 22 - 18 Players
In the finals, Jesse defeated Bob and Ralph defeated Duane in the consolations. Ralph has locked up the player of the month race.
Week 37 - September 15 - 18 Players 2 New
David Dinville’s father Martin joined us tonight as did James Zaczkowski. James made it to the consolation finals where he was defeated by Jeff Nitschke. In the finals Ralph defeated Steve Brown.
Week 36 - September 8 - 17 Players
Jeff Nitschke defeated Steve Binenstock in the finals and Steve Brown defeated Duane in the consolation. f

Ralph defeated David Dinville in the finals and Kevin defeated Steve Binenstock in the consolations...
Week 34 - August 25 - 14 Players
August is Jesse’s third month in a row as player of the month, the other five months each have a different players as the winner!!! Tonight, Dan wins in the finals defeating Ralph and Yury defeated Steve Brown in the consolation bracket.
Week 33 - August 18 - 14 Players - 1 New
Jeff Wallis joined us tonight for his first live tournament; he has two friends that he will bring next time... Jeff defeated Mitch in his first match, Yury in his second. He was dispatched to the consolations when he was defeated by Steve Brown in his third. In the consolations Jeff defeated Yury again, then Dave Wetzell and in the finals he was defeated by Duane - good job Jeff!!! In the finals, Jesse defeated Steve Brown which also put him in 1st place for player of the year ahead of Steve, he also wins player of the month - Congrats Jesse!!!

Had to use a funky draw sheet, so a few players did not get the usual guaranteed two matches - sorry about that folks... Kevin Ahtou defeated Jeff Nitschke in the finals and Yury defeated Kurt Peterson in the consolations.
Week 31 - August 4 - 17 Players
Hans wins, he defeated Duane in the finals and Jesse defeated Dan in the consolation finals. Jesse is player of the month for July...
Week 30 - July 28 - 18 Players
Jesse defeated Steve Brown in the finals to take Player of the Month for July. He scored a total of 4.24 points, Duane is second with 2.58. Ralph had to wait a long time for an opponent; but it was worth the wait, he defeated Hugh in the consolation final...
Week 29 - July 21 - 18 Players
Las Vegas player Ray Fogerlund and Alex Gerding from FL joined us tonight in our primer for the MN Open. Ray got dusted by Eric in a one game match for the win... Bob defeated Jesse in the consolation finals.
Week 28 - July 14 - 14 Players
According to Jesse, Duane got the perfect set of 3s for the win tonight!!! Hugh defeated Steve Brown in the consolations.
Week 26 - June 30 - 11 Players
Buy-Backs again tonight, with 11 players - A few headed for the tournament in Flint MI... Ed Ziesche defeated Steve Brown in the finals.
Week 25 - June 23 - 10 Players
Buy-Backs tonight, just 10 players - lots of people out of town... Jesse defeated David Dinville in the finals tonight.
Week 24 - June 16 - 13 Players
Summer is here, another low turnout... Steve Binenstock defeated Dan Yaman for a win in the finals and Yury defeated Nancy for the consolation win.
Week 23 - June 9 - 10 Players
Just 10 players tonight, so we had buy backs... John Westerlund from Nashville joined us tonight, he is here visiting relatives. John & I played a very long grueling 1st round match which he won 7 to 6. In the 2nd round he was defeated by Steve Binenstock in another long match. Duane defeated Steve Brown in the finals.
Week 22 - June 2 - 16 Players
Steve Cherne Wins again, he defeated Ron Kompelien in the finals. Steve’s headed for CA on his motorcycle so we won’t see him for a few months and Ron hasn’t been around since he started driving 18 wheelers over the road. He parked his truck at the Legion for the night & headed for St. Cloud first thing Friday morning. Jesse defeated Ralph for the consolation win.
Week 21 - May 26 - 14 Players
Congratulations Nancy our player of the month for May... Tonight Steve Cherne defeated Eric for the win and Steve Brown defeated Dan Yaman in the consolation.
Week 20 - May 19 - 17 Players
Too busy to post the last couple of weeks... Two players joined us for the first time this year - Dan Yaman & Shu Lee. Shu has been around a few times for some chouette action and tonight in the finals he defeated Duane for the win. For the second week Nancy is player of the month, she defeated Jesse in the finals last week. This week Nancy was defeated in the consolation finals by Eric.
Week 17 - April 28 - 16 Players
Two weeks in a row with sixteen players - Steve Brown defeated Hugh in the finals and Jesse defeated Bob in the consolations...
Week 16 - April 21 - 16 Players
Sixteen players again tonight - Jesse defeated Bob in the finals and Yury defeated Mitch in the consolations.
Week 15 - April 14 - 16 Players
Duane wins, he defeated Ralph in the finals - Phil Williams defeated Nancy in the consolations...
Week 14 - April 7 - 13 Players
Low turnout tonight, I’m guessing the great weather had something to do with it!!! Ralph defeated Bob in the finals tonight; looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of Ralph, as he has moved back to the cities from WI. Eric defeated Jesse in the consolations.
Week 13 - March 31 - 18 Players
I missed playing tonight, this being the last day of the month I needed to be at work - Thanks to Dave Wetzell for filling in for me tonight... Duane defeated Bob in the finals and Phil Biesanz defeated Nancy in the consolations.
Week 12 - March 24 - 15 Players
Steve Brown wins again for the 3rd week in a row... With 6 points Steve is guaranteed Player of the Month for March! Dave Wetzell and Yury met in the consolation finals with Yury scoring the win and maintaining 2nd place behind Steve B.
Week 11 - March 17 - 13 Players
Only 13 players tonight, I guessing that this being St Patrick’s Day may of had something to do with that... Lots of cornbeef & cabbage was had by all... In the finals, Steve Brown defeated Me, David M... Steve wins for the second week in a row. In the consolation bracket Eric defeated Duane.
Week 10 - March 10 - 16 Players
In town on business, Jeb Horton from SC joined us tonight. The finals tonight was a battle of Steve’s... Brown defeated Binenstock. In the consolations, Dave Wetzell defeated Yury.
Week 9 - March 3 - 13 Players - 1 New
Welcome to John Zindors who joined us tonight, he was defeated in the 1st round by Duane & by David D in the consolation. Hugh takes the win by defeating Duane and Yury defeated Bob for the consolation win.
Week 8 - February 24 - 17 Players
David Dinville wins February player of the month, he finished 2nd to Yury who scores the win tonight. Again under our imposed time constraints Ed and Bob didn’t have time to play the consolations finals and Ed won when he defeated Bob’s roll-off roll of 1-1!!!
Week 7 - February 17 - 20 Players
Last month Bob & Duane finished tied for player of the month, tonight Duane earned just enough points to tie Bob for Feb player of the month with one week to go... At the start of the evening we were told by the club manager, we have to finish all play 1/2 hour before closing - that changed the cube dynamics of the quarter finals & finals in both the winning & consolation brackets... In the end, Steve Brown defeated Hugh in the finals and David Dinville defeated Yury in the consolations!
Week 6 - February 10 - 18 Players
Dec 30, 2009 was the last time Jeff Nitschke won a weekly tournament. Tonight, he defeated Yury in the finals In the consolation finals, Bob continued his hot dice where he defeated Me, The Director... :-)
Week 5 - February 3 - 19 Players
In the finals, David Dinville wins; and for the 2nd week Duane finished 2nd. In the consolations, Steve Brown defeated Bob.
Week 4 - January 27 - 20 Players with 1 New
Kim’s brother Kurt joined us tonight, he was defeated by Eric in the first round and by Nancy in the consolation. Welcome Kurt, hope to see you on a regular basis. The Director Wins!!! I defeated Duane in the finals while Jesse defeated Ed in the consolations.
Week 3 - January 20 - 19 Players with 1 New
Great turnout tonight for a below zero weather... Kim Kotila joined us tonight she has limited backgammon experience, Welcome Kim hope you make us a regular part of your week. She was defeated by Jesse in a marathon 1st round match and Jesse defeated Tom Magne for the win. Yury bested Duane in the consolations.

Nancy made it to the finals tonight, where she was defeated by the Judge, Bob... Steve Binenstock defeated Ed in the consolations.
Week 1 - January 6 - 16 Players with 1 From the Past
Steve Brown is officially our 2010 player of the year... Tonight, John Richards joined us again, he last played in 2004. John did well tonight, he defeated Eric then Bob and Steve Brown to reach the finals where he was defeated by Duane. Bob defeated Nancy for the consolation win.
